Danish photographer Kirstine Mengel does it again: she has won a prestigious award in the category Professional Architecture, Interiors at this year's International Photography Awards. The award confirms her international status.
It's been only four months since Kirstine Mengel won an award for her pictures of architectural staircase solutions. Back then it was in Paris, in the competition Le Prix de Photographie. Now she takes home the IPA award in the category Professional Architecture, Interiors with the same series of images showcasing masterful staircases. The jury awarded her second place in the category.
"Naturally, I'm very honoured and proud that my work was chosen. To receive this type of recognition for my work in an international competition is, hopefully, also something people outside Denmark will take notice of,"states Kirstine Mengel.
For the past 10 years, the focal point of her photographic work has been architecture and interiors.
The winners are all invited to the ceremony in New York on October 28, which will bring together some of the world's finest and most recognized photographers in the different categories. Naturally Kirstine Mengel will be present, in her best gala dress:
"I expect it to be a grand experience. However, I also see this as an opportunity to connect with some of the big international architectural practices," she continues.
